Her last day making bricks

118 degrees. making bricks beside her parents.

118 degrees. making bricks beside her parents.

She has spent her last day making bricks. I wish I could show you her face. She was born a slave. Making bricks beside her parents to pay their debt. But the system is rigged. There aren’t enough hours in the day. With every family member working there aren’t enough hands. They get paid a pitiful amount per brick and no matter how fast they make bricks there will never be enough to pay off the debt to the kiln owners.

Her parents have been slaves 21 years. But not anymore. Today they woke up and didn’t have to make bricks. Today they woke up free. Thank you to everyone who has donated to operation freedom. We aren’t even close to done.
